Happy Friday, girl(ish) girls! I'm still recovering from all the TGIT drama last night so bare with me. Is anyone else as OBSESSED as I am?!

Let's have a little chat about camo. If you're like me, before this trend hit the fashion world, the only time you saw camo was when your Daddy went hunting or your country boy high school BFF took you muddin'. As a matter of fact, I had a guy approach me and say "Nice jacket. Are you a hunter?" the day of this shoot, haha. "Not even close." was my response. Truthfully I wanted to say "If I could kill a deer wearing this blinding yellow skirt and these heels, wouldn't I be considered a bad a** or something?"

You CAN wear camo and still be a super fashionable and trendy girly girl. All it takes is a pop of color and some heels and you've done my very favorite thing and made an edgy, yet feminine outfit. That's the best part about camo! My everyday style is casual, edgy, and feminine all rolled into one and this look fits in with that concept perfectly. One of my best pieces of fashion advice is if you feel like something looks "too casual", add some heels to it. I used to rock a fitted Banana Republic tee tucked in my roommate's Seven jeans with pumps like it was my JOB. Some of my best memories were lived in that outfit ten years ago. It's truly such a timeless concept that sticks with me year after year.  Or at this point, decade after decade. Heels do the same for camo. While I don't mind making the trend super casual, if you're a camo newbie, heels will be the best addition to your outfit and are a great way to boost your confidence.

I've also styled this shirt over a black romper with pink bow mules on my Instagram and it's one of my most loved outfits. I feel like I should order another pair of those mules while I can since I'm such a fan. A New Day at Target just gets me.

I'm throwing my SIL's baby shower this weekend so I'm off to run errands and finalize everything for that. I'm so excited! I hope y'all have a great weekend!

What's your favorite way to wear camo? Is there another trendy item that you're nervous to try? Tell me about it and I'll see if I can style it for you!

I'm currently staring at my sweet sleeping babe {toddler} on the monitor in awe. Most days, I honestly cannot believe he's mine. We prayed so hard for him and he definitely gets the "miracle" treatment, haha. When I come home from shoots or anytime I'm gone for more than an hour, I swear I love him even more. I miss him so much! I'm also reminded that taking time for myself, whether it is for work or for self care, doesn't only make me a better Mom, but he seems to be even more grateful and tends to behave better when I do.

Mamas, I know it's hard. I don't leave Sam with strangers. He doesn't get left in the church nursery, he doesn't go to daycare or preschool, and he definitely doesn't like to be away from his Mama. And vice versa for that matter. His grandparents are the only people we allow to keep him and man are we SO lucky to have two sets of the best ones out there! But even if it's hard, it's important to take the time to remember who you were before you were a Mama. Sometimes when Sam seems extra irritable, I realize it's because I'M extra irritable. It's because I haven't had enough sleep or I've "mommed" so hard I've forgotten to do anything for myself. I've talked about my struggles with postpartum depression before, but I also have severe anxiety that gets much worse if I don't take the time to take care of myself. Taking time for me prevents a lot of meltdowns, on both of our ends. {I'll talk more about how I treat the anxiety next week!}

I love going for coffee alone and being able to jam out in my car to something other than Disney music. Sometimes that's all it takes to recharge my soul. Other times it's extra quiet time in Bible study or some time in a dressing room without a toddler throwing goldfish in the floor, haha!

What's one thing you do to stay true to yourself? Not just as a Mom, but in general!

I'm incredibly grateful for this community of blogging and bloggers. It gives me a creative outlet that allows me to live out a big part of who I am, and the support I have received has been overwhelming! So much love for you all!

Oh and about the outfit! This is my new favorite dress, y'all. The embroidered detail is gorgeous and it would be perfect for both Fall and the holiday season. It has a slip underneath so it's not too sheer and it's super breathable and comfortable. I'm usually a small but I'm wearing an extra small for reference so if you're in between sizes, I would definitely size down. Especially if you're on the shorter side like me. I'm around 5'3!

Have a good Wednesday, friends. I'm already counting down until TGIT tomorrow! Who else is ridiculously excited? I'm a die hard Grey's fan but I can't wait for the final season of Scandal! Ahh!

How was everyone's weekend? We went to SkyTop Apple Orchard on Saturday and while it was ridiculously hot and we didn't leave with any apples, we still had fun. Sam was able to feed the sheep, drink apple cider from an apple sippy cup, and eat apple cider doughnuts. Each thing brought with it enough joy to make the entire day worth the trip! We ended the weekend in downtown Spartanburg. Contrary to the look on my sweet babies face, he did have so much fun. He loves to explore and I love to watch him learn new things so anytime we let him roam around, we both end up happy.

On to the outfit! Colored denim is a huge trend for Fall this year and I love anything olive. The raw hem on this pair of jeans adds a the little bit of edge that I love and it's always fun to pair a super casual look with heels. I really like this pair of Steve Maddens because they're surprisingly comfortable! Not only are they easy to walk in, but they're also easy to follow Sam around in! I have every intention of wearing them so much I'll end up needing a second pair. Story of my life. I'm a huge creature of habit!

Have a great Monday, friends! I'm off to run 1,000 errands before nap time. Again, story of my life.

PS The pink mules I keep sharing are FINALLY online. You can find them here!

Singing Rebecca Black like it's my job right now, y'all. TGIF! However, I'm currently writing this post on a Thursday night so I can't jump for joy just yet. I'm also currently laying in bed eating pickle chips, chugging water, and binge watching old Grey's Anatomy because it's been a long (but super fun!) day and I accidentally skipped a meal. I don't skip meals, haha! I got to have lunch with a new blogger friend and then go downtown with my sister and my boys for a fun sip and shop event. We stopped by Two Doors Down Boutique to try on some ADORABLE clothes and then had ice cream at Hub City Scoops. Both of which are my favorite places in downtown Spartanburg and apparently Sam's, too. He ended up toting around his own shopping bag and covered in Superman ice cream by the time we decided to head home. Couldn't deny that child if I tried.

Anyways, I love this outfit for a casual Fall day. I'm camo obsessed {as seen on my insta stories yesterday!} but I don't like to take it too far. I'm not trying to look like a country boy on opening day, I just want to add a little edge to a simple outfit. This jean jacket is my favorite out of all that I own {and I own a lot of jean jackets!} It's oversized and casual but I also think it would be perfect with a white blouse tucked into black skinny slacks. Add my Steve Madden Carrson sandals and you've got a perfect work to happy hour look!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We're taking Sam apple picking tomorrow and I can't wait! Thank you so much for reading. I've been overwhelmed by all of the support from the people in my life lately, I'm just so grateful. There's another super fun and girly camo look coming your way next week so stay tuned!

FAQ: Freshly Picked Moccasin Edition

greenville blogger
Sams Outfit: Shirt: Old Navy | Jeans: H&M | Shoes: Freshly Picked Dinosaur
My Outfit: Shirt: Express {old but it's a portofino shirt and they still carry a ton!} | Denim: Express | Mules: Target {in store only!}

I'm not exaggerating when I say I get more questions about my child's shoes than any of my own outfits. We adore Freshly Picked Moccasins and we share our love for them often so the surplus of questions doesn't come as a surprise. I wanted to do a FAQ run through so that I can answer all of the questions at once and have a concrete place for y'all to reference in the future.

What size do I purchase?

Freshly Picked recommends measuring from heel to big toe and comparing to their size chart to be sure you're ordering the right size. In our experience, the suggested sizes fit perfectly for Sam. For example, Sam wore crib moccs from 0-3 months, size 1 for 3-6, size 2 for 6-12, etc. He's in between sizes 3 and 4 now which makes me SO sad. I miss those sweet little newborn moccs!

They're so expensive! Are the worth it?

Well, first let me say I don't think they're overpriced at all. I know people find dupes for them at a quarter of the price so often, but I promise they do not compare. The quality of Freshly Picked is one of the main reasons we choose them over and over again. Sam is HARD on his some of them don't even look worn. You also don't get those sweet footprints in other moccs and those sweet footprints are actually priceless. Oh and the array of prints and colors! You won't find those anywhere else, either. I could seriously go on and on. Bottom line, they're absolutely worth it!

What are your favorite/colors styles?

I love a good print, but we definitely have more solids. Weathered brown was Sam's first pair and they're definitely the one's I recommend the most for first time buyers. I love that they basically go with everything! Our most recent purchase and my current favorite neutral is slate gray. I purchased Sam a ton of Winter clothes and these match everything! Bananas is my all time favorite print and Dinos are our current favorite. Both pair have ended up being his "park shoes". Well loved with sweet footprints. Definitely going in the memory box!

Are they a good choice for new walkers?

Yes, they're the BEST choice! Our pediatrician actually suggested soft soled shoes for learning to walk and so does the American Academy of Pediatrics. You can find articles from Freshly Picked here and here on why they're the best choice for your littlest loves.

 Do they fit well/fall off?

Absolutely! The only thing I will say is Sam had chicken legs as a newborn so they looked huge on his foot but they never fell off. They fit snug without being too tight and we've never experienced otherwise.

Are they too girly for boys?

Y'all, NO! Not even a little bit. Ironically, most Moms that ask me this are boy Moms and end up obsessed, haha.

I hope this post is super helpful for anyone on the fence about purchasing our favorite shoes! I've never loved a company more {their customer service is LEGIT, btw} and I know you will love them, too! If I missed anything, pleased let me know. We're so grateful to Freshly Picked for being the sweetest memory keepers!

PS. This post is not sponsored in anyway. We're just obsessed.

Happy Monday, friends! How was everyone's weekend? We've spent the past three days at our favorite park with our littlest love and watching a ridiculous amount of Bubble Guppies. I wouldn't have had it any other way. In the past week he has started talking and saying so many new words and I adore watching him learn and turn into a little boy.

I can't even tell y'all how much I love this top. I purchased it a few weeks ago from my FAVORITE boutique in downtown Spartanburg and I've probably worn it ten times. I love anything that can take my "motherhood style" up a notch and this top definitely does that. The ruffled sleeves add a gorgeous feminine touch that are perfect for a day date (or night!) but it's also still basic enough to chase after a toddler. Fashionable + Functional = WIN.

Ruffle sleeves are one of my favorite fashion trends for Fall so I'm linking some more of my favorite "motherhood approved" ruffle sleeve tops and dresses in the widget below. All affordable and under $50!

Sam and I are off on a little Mommy/Son day date. One of the many perks of being a stay at home Mom! Thank you so much for reading!
