casual fall outfit
 Shirt: H&M {old, similar here!} | Denim: Express {my FAVORITE low rise pair! I'm on the hippy side and don't typically love low rise for that reason. These don't ride down and that's why I'm obsessed with them!} | Oxfords: Target {only $25!} | Necklace: Baublebar
camo jacket outfit
 Romper: Express {old, similar here} | Camo Shirt: Express | Pink Bow Flats: Target {Also only $25!}

 Shirt: Express {last years but here in different colors and similar here} | Leggings: Nordstrom {my all time favs! Wore them pregnant, too and didn't have to go up a size!} | OTK Boots: Target {similar here} | Hat: Express | Tortoise Watch: Michael Kors
lace up sweatshirt outfit
Lace Up Sweatshirt: Nordstrom {SO lightweight and comfortable!} | Black Distressed Denim: Express | Oxfords: Target

It occurs to me that most of these clothes are from Express and all of the shoes are from Target. Let me explain. I shop from Express A LOT. I do that because of their Express NEXT Rewards Program. The basics of the program are you receive 10 points per dollars spent, a $10 reward for every 2,500 points earned and a TON of exclusive offers and bonus rewards. I purchased a $50 shirt last week and got it for FREE because I had enough rewards saved up. It is worth the seconds it takes to sign up and shop, friends. Promise! And I have so many shoes from Target because I don't like to spend money on things I believe are simply trending for a season. Target has dupes for basically everything in their shoe department and two out of three of these are under $30! I also live 9 minutes away from one and I don't think I've ever left with only what I went in for so there's that, haha!

Now let's real talk for a second. Yesterday, I woke up to a crib covered in vomit and ended the day cleaning poop out of my hard to drain whirpool bath tub. This morning, I woke up to a poop covered crib and ended the day cleaning my hardwood stairs because my sweet and sick toddler decided to stand at the top and pee down them. The stomach virus has slammed the Sumner house HARD. Hence the lack of usual blog post on Monday, btw. Being a Mama is hard on the regular, throw in a sickness and it's a cluster of messes. But y'all know what? This stomach virus has also brought with it the sweetest, Mama loving baby I've ever seen. I've snuggled my toddler more in the past two days than I have in the past month. Sam wants to be held ALL day but he's never been a cuddler so I'm grateful for all of the joy that we've been able to find in the middle of this mess.

The devastation that the Las Vegas shooting brought with it is heart wrenching. My heart aches so much for the people affected by this act of hate and for the lives lost. It's so easy to become fearful and hopeless in these situations. And it is absolutely okay to feel that way. But please don't let fear hold you back from being the good in this world. We have to be the examples. We have to GO and be disciples and doers. I mentioned in an Instagram post on Monday night that the two traits I've prayed for over Sam since I knew he existed were fearlessness and kindness. I'm constantly praying that he will always be fearless enough to be kind. I'm praying that he will be fearless and kind enough to GO and spread the love and Gospel of Jesus. And I'm praying that as his mother, I can lead him by example.

We cannot let fear win. Allowing fear to win is only giving in to the evil of this world. Keep going to concerts and theme parks and malls and movie theaters. LIVE a beautiful life by FAITH and full of the things that you love the most. And teach your kids to do the same.

Events like Monday's put the fleetingness of life into perspective. Every day life can seem hard but it's oh so sweet. How grateful am I that my "hard" right now is simply a stomach virus!

 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33
